INSIDE GOLDILOCKS' CABIN, BY ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST

Welcome to my corner of heaven
By the water. I use this boat for groceries.
We can walk through the garden, take this path
Through the orchard, restored.
You should see this place in summer,
When the light hits just right. The last family
Built this house with bare hands,
Cedar and stone. We knocked through the walls
And discovered an octagon. I’ve injected
Softness with roses, quail blues,
A bit of taxidermy. Local blankets from a maker
On the mainland. When I take my breakfast
I can look to the harbour on a clear day,
When I take my dinner I can look to the stars:
Like chains lain across velvet.
